Houng Lau completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science (Traditional Chinese Medicine) at the University of Western Sydney and spent 3 months in Nanjing hospital of Chinese Medicine as an intern. Her interest in meridian style acupuncture has led her to Japan on numerous occasions to study with her teacher(master acupuncturist – Mazakazu Ikeda). She also has over 10 years experience as a massage and shiatsu therapist. Houng has a passionate interest in women’s health, fertility -male and female as well as treatments for children.  Houng has treated kids as early as 3 months of age.

Having assisted many women during the birthing process.  She has also taught at pre-natal classes on the topic of “reducing pain during labour with acupressure” She designs special treatments to assist women to give birth on time and induces those that are late. In December 2007, Houng donated her time to a non-profit organisation in Ubud, Bali where she administered acupuncture treatments to women and children as well as assisted in the delivery of a baby.

Laura Rankine has a Bachelor of Health Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the University of Technology, Sydney and spent two months at the Japan-China Friendship Hospital in Beijing as an intern.

Laura has also completed specialised courses in Japanese Meridian style acupuncture and moxibustion and facial rejuvenation acupuncture. In addition, she has extensive training in Qigong and incorporates the philosophies of this ancient healing therapy in all of her treatments.

Laura treats illness and musculoskeletal pain arising from stress, digestive issues, injury and emotional imbalance. She has a keen interest in women’s health and fertility – both male and female. Laura also treats imbalances and pain that occur during pregnancy and performs pre-birth treatments.

Additionally, Laura is trained in Tuina (Chinese Remedial Massage), using techniques such as acupressure, deep tissue massage, trigger point release, gua sha and cupping to improve circulation, reduce muscle tension and spasms, and increase flexibility.

She is passionate about approaching her patients’ disharmonies from a holistic perspective, encompassing emotional, spiritual and physical levels; her belief is that addressing these three components is fundamental to ensuring one’s overall balance and wellbeing.

Committed to continually furthering her knowledge in Acupuncture, Tuina and Chinese Herbal Medicine, Laura regularly attends a wide range of specialised workshops and seminars to increase and expand her proficiency in these modalities. She is an accredited member of AACMA and ATMS.
